Patient Mentoring Program: ‘A Rare Connection’
A diagnosis of cancer is a life-altering event and regardless of the outcome of the disease process, the journey is often wrought with uncertainty and challenge. In an effort to provide compassion, support and guidance to ease this journey, a “mentor” or “buddy” that has lived through this process can make the road traveled less difficult. The mentoring program provides insight and support as a result of experiencing the same type of cancer, and helps patients utilize all resources throughout the Central New York community.
